Guzin Potente, RYT 500

Guzin moved from Germany to Long Island in 2001 after receiving her Masters degree in Education and Child Psychiatry. Soon after taking her first Yoga classes she realized that Yoga was not just helping her on a physical level to become stronger and more flexible, but mentally and emotionally she was enjoying the benefits of Yoga. Her love to Yoga led her to the Yoga Teachers Training Institute where she found her second home and graduated in 2006. Her teachers Marianne Mitsinikos and Mokshapriya Shakti inspired her to stay on the path of Yoga as a life long student. Guzin accepted Marianne's gracious offer to take over the business of Northport Yoga Center in April 2008 and since then she is committed to offer Yoga to the community. She enjoys studying Eastern philosophies and Meditation and likes to combine them in her teaching style. She studied with various teachers like Judith Hanson Lasater and Cyndi Lee. Guzin teaches Hatha, Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga. She is certified in Reiki 1 & 2 and Integrated Energy Therapy Level 1.

Eugene Ingoglia, RYT 500, certified Thai Yoga Practitioner, Lotus Palm School

 

Gene has been practicing Yoga since 1996 and continues to study with Yoga teachers of all disciplines, learning more with each retreat, seminar and encounter. As an athlete, he has developed flexibility through yoga and has found success addressing personal stress and stress-related health issues through his practice. Gene believes that the practice and process of yoga provides opportunity for growth, learning and peace. He has trained with the Long Island Arthritis Association in PACE (people with arthritis can exercise) bringing this discipline to Assisted living centers locally and to his classes at Northport Yoga Center. Additionally, Gene studied with Les Ballard at the Kripalu Center in Lenox, Mass. and is certified by Les as an instructor in YOGA for GOLFERS.

 

Rosemary Barnitz, RN, RYT 500

Rosemary Barnitz has practiced yoga and meditation and nursing for a number of years as a gateway to wellness. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Nursing as well as a Bachelors of Arts in the Social Sciences. She works as a Registered Nurse as well as yoga teacher. She is certified by the National Yoga Alliance at the 500 hour level and continues to study and expand her practice with trainings to share with her students in the community, at the Northport Yoga Center and at Northport/East Northport Continuing Education. She teaches yoga, breathwork, meditation and practices Thai yoga bodywork. Her practice is grounded in mindfulness, seeking wellness, balance, strength and flexibility through a compassionate, joyful, heartfelt approach.

Soose Triolo, RYT 500

Soose is a yoga instructor and freelance film editor/producer for in Manhattan. She rediscovered yoga in 1990 when the effects of years of stress and athletic injury started to take their physical and emotional toll. Since that time, Soose has studied yoga extensively and in 1998, graduated from YTTI. Soose received certification from Judith Lasater in the study of Relax and Renew restorative yoga in 2002 and is currently studying Anusara yoga with John Friend.  She shares her knowledge with others to promote well-being and health.

Roxana Lucero, RYT 500

Roxana began practicing yoga 10 years ago at a local gym and fell in love with it immediately.  The challenge and fulfillment was amazing, physically and mentally and soon she was practicing 6 days a week.  Her concentration was Astangha at the beginning but soon she learned to slow down, savor the strength in Hatha and experienced the beauty of alignment in Iyengar.  The love for this wonderful practice led her to YTTI (Yoga Teacher Training Institute of Long Island and Queens) in 2006, a transformative course with an amazing group of people at the 200 hour level.  The infinite knowledge and inspiration that her two teachers provided Marianne and Mokshapriya, guiding her with loving hands encouraged to continue her path to the 500 hour level in 2008.  Roxana has continued her education by pursuing her E-RYT as well as her 500 hour level certification in Power yoga with Beryl Bender Birch.  She continues to be an active member of the Long Island Yoga Association.  Her passion to continue to learn, practice and teach this great gift of yoga has made Roxana so grateful and honored to share it with everyone.

Theresa Banks, RYT 500, CYKT

 

Theresa Banks started practicing yoga in 2003. After surgery to both knees, step class, and aerobic style classes were no longer an option. At that time, she was seeking a practice to reduce stress in her life, and create balance, strength, and flexibility in her body. In wanting to share her love of yoga and the healing and health benefits with others, she enrolled in Into This World Yoga Teacher Training program where she received her 200 hour teaching certification. Her studies continue with many amazing teachers especially Mokshapriya Shakti and Marianne Mitsinikos from Yoga Teacher Training Institute.  Theresa is certified by the Yoga Alliance, is a member of Long Island Yoga Association and has advanced prenatal training. She is certified in Reiki I and Reiki II. Theresa is a mother of three and one of her passions includes teaching yoga to children. She has completed the 411 hour YogaKids Training and earned the status of a Certified Yogakids Teacher (CYKT). She believes that by teaching yoga to children it empowers them with the building blocks necessary to build a strong foundation of mind, body, and spirit for their future.

Janine Ambroze, RN, BSN, RYT 500, RPYT

 

Janine Ambroze is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science and an Associate Degree in Surgical Technology. This background led her to explore different healing modalities, culminating in her discovery of yoga and yogic philosophy in 2001. Her training continued at the Yoga Teacher Training Institute under the supervision of Mokshapriya Shakti and Marianne Mitsinikos. Janine has advanced training in prenatal yoga and is certified by the Yoga Alliance as a RPYT and as a RYT. She holds a certification in restorative yoga, and has a concentration in working with diabetics. Janine is a member if the Long Island Yoga Association.

Janine is the Director of Physiological Studies at the Yoga Teacher Training Institute (YTTI), for the Teach Kids Yoga program. She is also a faculty member in YTTI’s 200 Hour Training program, where she teaches anatomy and physiology to potential yoga teachers. Additionally, she has been certified in Reiki I and II. Janine believes that yoga affords one the opportunity to create balance and harmony throughout all avenues of life. It is in this balanced state that one can attain wholeness and health.

 

Theresa Venezia, RYT 500, Traditional Usui Reiki Master
Theresa Venezia is a yoga teacher and an artist in addition to being a facilitator of healing energy. She has studied various forms of energy healing, including Reiki, Karuna Reiki®, and Integrated Energy Therapy®, and incorporates these modalities, as needed, into each session. She regularly offers classes and attunements to empower people to practice Reiki, Integrated Energy Therapy®, and Integrated Energy Therapy® for Kids. She also offers classes on connecting with your angels. She has devoted her life to spiritual study and intuitively brings a wealth of knowledge to each session, assisting you in your desire to be the best person you can be.

Lauren Ingolia, RYT 200

Lauren Ingoglia has received her 200-hour certification from the “Yoga Teachers Training Institute” in December 2009 and is currently pursuing her 500-hour certification.  Lauren is a registered teacher
with Yoga Alliance and is also a member of the Long Island Yoga Association.  She continues to enhance her practice and knowledge of yoga through various trainings and workshops with many well respected teachers including Beryl Bender Birch.  Next year she plans to study with Sara Powers and Dharma Mittra. She believes that to be a great teacher one must be a dedicated student. Through her practice of yoga and meditation she has found her true joy in life.  She enjoys maintaining a balance between practicing ashtanga, hatha and yin yoga. Yoga has improved all aspects of her life and continues to guide her on her spiritual journey. She has a profound passion for sharing this beautiful gift of yoga with her students.

Linda Hacker, RYT 500

Linda has been practicing yoga for over a decade. She received her 200 hour teacher title in 2006 and her 500 hour level in 2009. She is registered with Yoga Alliance and is a member of the Long Island yoga Association.
Linda is also a “Relax and Renew Trainer” certified by Judith Hanson Lasater Ph.D. P.T. In 2010 Linda completed the “Om Yoga Breast Cancer Survivors Teacher Training”, and continues to study as a student deepening her knowledge of this ancient science.
She currently directs the yoga program at “The Friends for Life Foundation”, a non-profit breast cancer support group which provides many services to cancer patients and their families. In August of 2010, Linda started “Svadharma Yoga Project”, which looks to deliver safe therapeutic yoga to all bodies. Her personal mission statement is that no life should be lived in pain, be it physical, mental, or emotional.

My name is Linda Kundla and I have been practicing for over fourteen years.  Last year (2010), I spent 6 weeks studying with the Iyengar family in Pune, India.  I continue my studies with my mentor and also study at the Iyengar Yoga Institute in Manhattan, as well as maintaining a home practice.  I look forward to joining the Northport Yoga Center and the opportunity to teach the Iyengar method of yoga.
